Animal Rescue League
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of the homeless, abandoned, and mistreated animals in Jones County.
Founded in 1981, the ARL is one of very few no-kill facilities in Mississippi. This means there is no time limit on adoptions of each animal. If they are not adopted, they live out their lives at the shelter. They are NOT euthanized just for being unwanted.

I recently adopted a puppy from here, and I couldn't be happier with my experience! The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, which made the entire process feel easy and stress-free. They took the time to answer all my questions about my new fur baby and clearly cared about each animal. I appreciated their transparency regarding the dog's history and health status. My only suggestion would be to maybe have more frequent updates about available pets on their website; it would help potential adopters plan their visits better. Overall, I felt a strong sense of community and love for animals during my time there. I highly recommend this place if you're considering adopting a pet. They truly make a difference in the lives of these animals!

After searching for a companion for a while, I finally decided to visit this shelter. I was pleased to find a clean and well-organized facility, where each animal seemed to have its own space and comfort. The staff were exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly, making the adoption process straightforward. They provided a lot of information on animal care and even offered tips on integrating a new pet into my home. I adopted a senior cat who has since brought so much joy and companionship into my life. The only downside was that some of the waiting areas could feel a bit cramped during busier times, which made it tough to get enough one-on-one time with the animals I was interested in. However, the dedication and love the staff showed made it worth the visit. I highly recommend checking it out if you're thinking about adopting or even wanting to volunteer!

This place is absolutely wonderful! I went to volunteer for the weekend, and the staff were friendly and passionate about the animals. It felt great to contribute and see how much love they give to every animal. I’ll definitely return to help out again!
